Head

Headaches are complicated and frustrating. They can range from an occasional tension or sinus headache to more debilitating conditions such as migraines, cluster headaches, occipital neuralgia or trigeminal neuralgia. Treatment can be difficult since there are many potentially contributing factors – allergies, hormonal fluctuations, stress levels, posture, blood pressure, blood sugar, dietary triggers, medications, alcohol and dental and neck pain and more. To determine the appropriate treatment, it is important to understand the nature of your headache.

At Wellward Regenerative Medicine, we seek to understand what makes your headache unique to you. Often times, there is more than one cause and a broad label like migraine or tension-headache limits effective treatment options. Tracing the nerves that carry headache signals to the brain often uncovers it’s cause. Special types of nerve blocks not only can decrease the frequency or severity of headaches but can even eliminate it permanently. Shoulder

Shoulder joints have a shallow joint socket, which gives it the widest range of motion of all joints in the body. The shoulder relies on 3 parts for stability: 1) the labrum, a soft tissue cup that makes the socket deeper, 2) ligaments to tie parts together, and 3) the rotator cuff, a group of four muscles and tendons that move the shoulder while keeping it in the socket. Some everyday positions and stresses make the shoulder vulnerable. Damage can occur suddenly with a sports injury or accident, or it can evolve slowly with aging and accumulation of small injuries. Neck

Tech Neck, as it’s come to be known, is the painful effect of daily endured poor ergonomics. Neck muscles in this condition work overtime, which can lead to the development of strains and tears in the tendons. As muscles fatigue, the entire weight of the head starts weighing down on hard structures like disks and joints which cause degenerative disk and neck arthritis (also called cervical facet arthropathy). Back

Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons for a doctor’s visit. And while the types and causes of pain vary greatly, at Wellward Regenerative Medicine, we offer treatments that are office-based and effective for many different issues. Our first goal is to figure out the exact cause of pain. Our approach begins with listening to your story and carefully examining your back. We review your radiology together to explain contributing factors and examine you under live x-ray or ultrasound while activating the part of your back causing the pain. Chest

Chest wall pains are among the least understood pain problems by the average physician. Many do not know that nearly 25% of women who have a mastectomy for breast cancer continue to have breast pain even after remission. This often occurs due to scarring around nerves. Other injuries that can cause chest wall pain include thoracotomy, rib fracture and shingles. Most often, persistent pain is a result of damage to intercostal nerves, a condition called intercostal neuralgia.
