Are you constantly trying to navigate life with agonizing, painful nerves? If so, you’ve most likely tried every imaginable solution out there in the hopes of finding lasting relief. However, now there is an answer that can provide a much-needed reprieve: Wellward Medical! By offering a wealth of treatments customized for your specific needs, we are committed to helping you regain control over your never health—helping unlock newfound freedom from nerve pain.
We at Wellward can take a look at nerves under ultrasound and see what they look like. A lot of people come to us having neuropathic pain, which feels like burning or tingling sensations. This kind of pain can be caused by conditions like carpal tunnel syndrome, diabetes, and other health problems. We can use medical imaging to see how healthy nerves look compared to unhealthy nerves.
In the summertime, we love eating huge bowls of our favorite honeycomb cereal. Why is this a great thing and why am I talking about honeycomb cereal with nerves? Well, if we take a look at the shape of this delicious cereal and see it side-by-side with an amazing-looking healthy nerve, they’re very similar. The happiness we get from eating that delicious cereal is the happiness we get when we see you with a healthy nerve.
If your nerve looks like a honeycomb cereal, it will be an easier road for us. We just need to do some work on the biomechanics, tighten up some ligaments, and maybe do some electrical needling around that area, nerve flossing, and get your body feeling healthy again.
Since we work on many different cases of nerve injuries, sometimes we’re not going to see this type of healthy nerve. This is because you’ve had pain for a while.
Normally, we would see a lot of honeycomb-looking nerves with the presence of a lot of fibrous tissue. But when the nerve has been injured, compressed, or irritated for a long period of time, it’s going to lose the nice honeycomb shape.
Your nerves are honeycomb-shaped structures of fibrous tissue that enable messages to travel quickly and efficiently through your body. However, when you’re dealing with an unhealthy nerve, the compromised shape does not allow for as quick or efficient a message transfer as desired, leading to problems. It’s important not to lose hope if you do find yourself in this situation – although these issues may not be easily fixed, many of them can be managed with the right approach.
For some of our patients, we can do a hydro dissection around the nerve where we’re injecting fluid and spreading the tissue around it. If we wanted to take it a step further, we would inject it with platelet lysate or platelet releasate, which are types of orthobiologics.
Orthobiologics are growth factors that can provide your body with the resources it needs to get those nerves back in shape and feeling healthy again. By removing growth factors from your bloodstream, we can restore them back into their healthy condition. It’s a positive force that can really make a difference in the strength and performance of your nerve system.
Not all challenges related to pain have the same solution. If you or someone close has been told that surgery is your only option, there’s now a new alternative. Discover these and reclaim control of managing discomfort in an easier way than ever before.
