Get Local Farm-fresh Food Right Here at Wellward!

Join us on March 16 at 12:00 pm EST to learn how!

Eating healthy can be a challenge, but it doesn’t have to be! One of the best ways to ensure you are eating the right foods is to have fresh, organic fruits and vegetables readily available in your home. Many grocery stores offer a variety of products, but the quality can be low at times. Luckily, there’s a better way to get farm-fresh food to support your healthy lifestyle and support your neighbors at the same time! It’s called Community Supported Agriculture.

Farm sharing has been around in America since the 1980s. Farmers from Europe came to America and started the first-ever community supported agriculture (CSA) projects in the US. CSA groups are made up of one or more local farms that offer shares of their harvests to the public. Through CSA groups, you are able to get a percentage of the harvests from these local farms delivered to your home or a centralized pickup location! The shares aren’t just limited to produce – many farms offer meat, eggs, and more.

Wellward supports healthy lifestyles and healthy living. We will serve as a hub for you to pick up your CSA shares if you are located too far for home delivery. This is a great way to ensure a weekly supply of fresh, organic, healthy foods from your local community without the hassle of searching for quality products at the store. It’s a great value too, as you get food straight from the farm to your table.

You are invited to join us for a virtual CSA Lunch and Learn on March 16 from 12:00pm-:12:30pm EST. We are partnering with Lazy Eight Stock Farm and the Organic Association of Kentucky (OAK) to explore local CSAs in more detail and further explain the benefits a CSA can bring to you and your community.
